Geological heritage


NGU has developed a database for geological heritage, which contains nationwide data on sites and areas of interesting geology, which may be worthy of preservation. A map application is already developed.

Specific usage

The data form the basis for the development of nature experiences, planning of nature trails, and possible protection of geological natural heritage.

Geological diversity addresses the variation in rocks, minerals, deposits, landforms and the processes that create them. A good understanding of the geological diversity will enable us to better manage nature and the environment, in addition to increasing the value of nature experiences.
